MAY
Saturday 19th May The Mighty Blighty Ride Start Bermondsey Square 08.30 As part of the Jubilee Celebrations there will be a fly past over Windsor, which quite obviously will be visible to everyone in the area. The flypast will comprise two separate aircraft formations – nine Typhoon fighter jets open the event, followed later by a large mixed formation which will include two formations of Tornado and Hawk aircraft; The Red Arrows; and aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight; in all a total of 85 aircraft.
To get in position at Windsor for noon, we’ll train from Waterloo to a convenient point on the non- tidal Thames, and go from there. Timings a little bit vague at the moment, however air traffic control restrictions have been lifted over Windsor from 11.40, so noon seems to be a good bet. http://www.veterans-uk.info/) Lunch at our usual place in Windsor and then a pootle out to Maidenhead via the Olympic rowing course at Eaton Dorney, return to Paddington. Brought to you by Her Britannic Majesty’s Loyal Subject, Master William Owen of the Parish of Bermondsey. Chocks away!

JUNE
Saturday 2nd June Sussex Circular (train assisted) C.50 miles – could be quite hilly – moderate pace (c10-12 mph average) Meet: Trevor Hughes @ London Bridge station entrance, near the ticket machines @ 0800 to catch the 0823 to Robertsbridge, Sussex – alternatively, join this train at Sevenoaks or Orpington. As an antidote to busy London on the Jubilee weekend, why not join us for a ride out in the peaceful and beautiful Sussex countryside. Leafy lanes, rustic villages, lunch at country pub, and great social company, together with some great exercise of course, especially as this ride will feature some hills, some challenging, but it should be a great day out. We should be back at Roberstbridge by about 4pm, and may have a pint or two to round the day off at one of the village hostelries. Contact: Trevor Hughes 07775 928953
